Terms of Service

By using SmartShelf ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is operated by Johannes Forseth as an individual developer.

1. Use of the App

  • The App provides features to track food expiration dates and offers AI-powered suggestions via OpenAI.
  • Basic features are available without subscription. AI-powered features require an active subscription.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
  • You agree to use the App in compliance with all applicable laws.
  • The App requires device permissions including camera (for scanning), microphone (for voice input), notifications (for alerts), and speech recognition (for voice-to-text).
  • Item data is stored locally on your device and can be exported or deleted at any time.

2. Subscription Terms

  • Subscription provides unlimited access to AI-powered features.
  • Payment is processed through Apple's in-app purchase system on a monthly recurring basis.
  • Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Subscription management and cancellation are handled through your Apple ID account settings.
  • No refunds for partial subscription periods unless required by law.
  • Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat and Apple's in-app purchase system.

3. AI Features

  • AI features are powered by OpenAI and require an active subscription.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated suggestions.
  • AI features may be temporarily unavailable due to technical limitations or service interruptions.
  • You agree not to use AI features for any unlawful or prohibited purposes.

4. Intellectual Property

We retain all rights to the App and its content. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI suggestions or food safety recommendations. Always use your judgment regarding food safety.

6. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including decisions made based on AI suggestions.

7. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
