1. Data Collected

Local Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device: - Item information and expiration dates - Notification preferences - Camera and voice recordings are processed locally and not stored You can export or delete this data at any time through the App settings.

Third-Party Services

  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription status
  • OpenAI: Processes AI features
  • Apple: Handles payments and subscriptions

Subscription Data

Subscription management and payments are handled entirely through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not collect, store, or have access to any payment information or subscriber details. Your subscription status is managed by Apple and is only used to determine feature access within the app.

AI Feature Usage

For users with an active subscription, the App provides unlimited access to AI-powered features. When using these features, your queries are processed through OpenAI's API. While we do not store this data, the processing requires temporary transmission of your input to OpenAI's servers. This may include text about food items, expiration dates, and related queries.

Non-Personal Data

The App may collect non-personal usage data to understand how users interact with the App (e.g., feature usage frequency, error logs). This data, if collected, is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.

Third-Party Services (OpenAI API)

The App may send text queries or prompts to the OpenAI API to provide certain AI-powered features (e.g., generating ingredients, products, exp. date.). This process may involve transmitting user-entered text to OpenAI's servers. We do not store these prompts. However, OpenAI may process and temporarily store the data as per their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing OpenAI's Privacy Policy for more information.

2. How We Use Data

  • Subscription Verification: Your subscription status is verified through Apple's systems to enable AI feature access.
  • AI Processing: For subscribers, we process your queries through OpenAI's API to provide AI-powered features. This data is not stored beyond the immediate processing needs.
  • App Improvements: Anonymous usage data helps us enhance app performance and features.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell your data.
  • Service Providers: We may use trusted third-party services (like OpenAI) to operate the App and its features. They have access only to the data required to perform their tasks and must not use it for other purposes.

4. Data Retention

We do not store personal information as no personal data is collected. Temporary data used for processing (e.g., AI queries) is not retained after the function is performed.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data transmissions and the limited data we handle. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Choices

  • No Personal Data to Delete: Since we do not store personal data, there is no personal information to delete or modify.
  • Third-Party Privacy: For AI processing, review OpenAI's policies. You may choose not to use features that send data to OpenAI if you are uncomfortable with their terms.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Policy.
